Calling all college/university students!

Do you have something to say about the OSAP funding cuts? Or how the Ford Government has destroyed students ability to obtain higher education?

“EN: We have re-strategised! Introducing:
🟥 Ontario Students Against Austerity.

We are a collective of students who have spent the last two years organizing on campuses. Our goals are simple, the OSAP cuts have galvanized students across Ontario — priming them for action. Our experiences over the last two years since the Encampments have taught us that the best way to accomplish anything is to get practical experience first.

We seek to accomplish tangible material concessions in favour of Ontario students. A strike is tactic for how we achieve that, and a method of pressure that requires strong organization and coordination. The first steps for a strike or any other widely coordinated tactic begin with local organization.

Currently we are based out of Toronto, Hamilton, and Guelph. If you are an individual, a student club, or an external organisation interested in working with us, please get in touch!

FR: Nous avons changé de stratégie ! Voici :
🟥 Ontario Students Against Austerity (Étudiants de l’Ontario contre l’austérité).

Nous sommes un collectif d’étudiantes et d’étudiants qui ont passé les deux dernières années à s’organiser sur les campus. Nos objectifs sont simples : les coupes dans le RAFÉO (Régime d’aide financière aux étudiantes de l’Ontario) ont galvanisé les étudiants à travers la province — les préparant à l’action. Nos expériences des deux dernières années depuis les campements nous ont appris que la meilleure façon d’accomplir quoi que ce soit est d’acquérir d’abord de l’expérience pratique.

Nous cherchons à obtenir des concessions matérielles tangibles en faveur des étudiants de l’Ontario. La grève est une tactique pour y parvenir, et une méthode de pression qui nécessite une organisation et une coordination solides. Les premières étapes pour une grève ou toute autre tactique largement coordonnée commencent par l’organisation locale.
